Why Nicaragua?

  1.  Nicaragua's Population: 5.4 Million.

  2.  Population in Poverty (Lacking food and medical attention): 2.3 Million. It is the 3rd poorest country in all of the America's. The annual per capital income is $453. The infant mortality rate is among the highest in the world. Each year, over 200,000 children are forced to work due to their parents' impoverished state.

  3.  Only 29% of all children finish elementary school.

  4.  20% of children, under the age of 5, across the country are famished, and this number rises up to 40% in the rural areas.

  5.  95% of disabled children receive no government support at all.

  6.  Sexual exploitation of children, drug usage and violence are all cause for concern in a country with 70% unemployment.
